Speeding Tickets and Other Traffic Violations

The lawyers of Parker & Howes regularly handle traffic violation cases (including speeding tickets) in Iredell County, North Carolina. If you have received a ticket in Iredell County, we may be able to save you a lot of time, money, and inconvenience. Please feel free to call us at (704) 871-0300 for a free consultation. If you are from another state, please consider the following information before you simply mail in your ticket and pay the fine.

Many traffic violations can:

  • Cost you a lot of money in increased insurance premiums
  • Affect your driving privileges with your state's DMV

It is important to consider the effects on both your insurance and driving privileges. Drivers are often told to just pay off their ticket by mailing in a fine. This is the same as pleading guilty and is often an expensive mistake.

Insurance Effects

Insurance points are recorded against each driver for convictions and at-fault accidents occurring during the three years prior to his/her insurance renewal date. A driver will be assigned insurance points for the following actions and many others:

  • Speeding
  • Driving While Impaired or Driving Under the Influence
  • Driving without a license or registration
  • Driving with a suspended license or registration
  • Reckless driving
  • Certain at-fault accidents
  • Other moving violations

This list is not comprehensive and does not provide the insurance points associated with each violation. It is important to contact an attorney to determine the severity of your violation and the proper course of action.
